Celebratory Dinner – Sivagurunathan Memorial Trophy – 2018

“Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,

Being a part of this beautiful island nation with 21million people, all of us have been blessed with that rare opportunity and privilege of learning our As and Bs/ the 1s and 2s under the loving guidance of two most prestigious schools in the country.

This connectivity was taken to a different level in the year 2012 and have since then reached great standards with the “Sivagurunathan Memorial Trophy being thus continued for 07 long years! This undoubtedly remains a great testimony for the efforts put in by both schools in our attempt of becoming catalysts in strengthening communal harmony.

This year it has been no different as we’ve already witnessed the successful completion of the Limited over Cricket encounter, the Chess and English debating competitions at the Ananda College premises. In fact the Basket Ball encounter will be held tomorrow to mark the fruitful completion of the 7th edition of this wonderful story.

Whilst we recognize the winners of all these events and celebrate the brotherhood between Jaffna Hindu College and Ananda College, we will also take the opportunity to award and recognize a symbolic idol produced by Ananda College. This gentleman who is seated amongst us in this audience undoubtedly have been the owner of a wonderful success story not just the College but the entire country to be proud of.”
